Congrats on the new grandchild!

Please excuse my ignorance; I'm not quite up to speed on the many tribes; generally use only the terms Innuit, Aleut & Athabascan; not really clear on any of these.

I studied Anthropology in college(many long years ago now), and was fascinated by the traditional Potlatch(and the underlying social concept); have read about the difficulties(for both groups) arising from missionaries trying so hard to suppress the practice.

I've read quite a bit about the 'Northern Peoples,' both traditional & modern; always FICTION, where the truth can actually be explored and expressed.

Don't remember where exactly that I read about this(it was NOT fiction), so must ask you the question; perhaps you can supply the missing name that will get my research back on track. There was a GREAT & POWERFUL Native Prophet whose prophecies were astounding, and surpassed Christian Theology in ways that should indicate to the thinking spiritual seeker that "I am the way!" did not mean the ONLY way, and furthermore that an actively involved creator god has always provided 'his children' with a prophet whenever that is what was needed!

Perhaps you can recommend some titles for the contemporary fiction I have been talking about as well!
